Julie Price paintings at White Rock branchThe Way I See It, Life is Art and Art is Therapy - White Rock North Star Artist Julie Price

Julie Price was born in Guam, raised in California and Southern Mississippi. She has traveled extensively, lived in Europe and now resides in Santa Fe. Price studied under Joseph Piasentin at Pepperdine University where she obtained a dual B.A. in Psychology and Art. She went on to obtain an M.A. in Counseling and Art Therapy at Notre Dame De Namur University, training in Psychology and Art therapy at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Price has been a featured artist for ArtFeast Santa Fe, taught privately and previously represented at Giacobbe Fritz, Canyon Road, Santa Fe, N.M., and Forebears, Telluride, CO. Her works reside in a number of private collections. "My work is about the creative process itself, not knowing the 'how' or the 'means to the end.' Creativity requires trust and it is my hope that my work inspires others into their own creative process. I chose encaustic as my medium because of the fluidity, density and layers that can be achieved with a 'letting go' that the process requires," states Price. Her work is featured at the White Rock office on 40 Rover Blvd. Learn more about the artist here.

Lisa Coddington Watercolor FlowersBotanical Art by Lisa Coddington (DeVargas Branch)

Born in Venezuela to American parents, artist/instructor Lisa Coddington grew up in the American suburbs with an appreciation for exploring the outdoors. Now residing in Santa Fe, N.M. the artist is surrounded with new views of art forms familiar to her from favorite childhood folk art gifts her parents brought from travels abroad. The art objects cultivated her appreciation for global aesthetic diversity, and introduced to her a visual language that transcends cultural barriers. Artist statement: Living lines and painted color reflect my response to beautiful natural forms that I continue to admire since the days when I was told to "go outside and play."
